With twenty-seven years of commercial experience in top-level retailing, William has worked for a wide mix of successful retail businesses, including Harrods Ltd, Debenhams Plc, Bentalls Ltd, Harvey Nichols, Knightsbridge, and Otter Nurseries Garden Centres, of which he has sixteen years’ experience of senior management – seven as Managing Director. Having been exposed to a variety of differing business management environments he has developed significant knowledge relevant and transferable to a whole mix of industries and sectors.

Academic knowledge

William has a PhD in Business Management in the area of organisational entrepreneurship, gained in 2017, giving him an advanced knowledge of organisational growth (across all sectors) and the factors that support it. He also has a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) with Distinction (Dean’s Commendation). Subject expertise: strategy, marketing, leadership, finance, accounting, innovation, organisational behaviour, entrepreneurship, managing strategic resources & operations, and management consultancy.

His lecturing supports the development of his knowledge communication skills so that he can be more effective at getting important points across.
